ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Repair and provide preventative maintenance of all tooling (using outside vendor as needed).
  • Schedule mold maintenance.
  • Coordination for outside repairs, maintenance and new tooling in collaboration with Tooling Manager.
  • Retain last shot from mold for record keeping.
  • Pickup and delivery of molds from outside vendors.
  • Establish new tooling requirements.
  • Test new molds and implement changes or alterations as required.
  • Initiate work orders for mold repairs or alterations using IQMS.
  • Work with VP of Manufacturing, Mfg. Manager, Shift Supervisors and Quality to diagnose and correct manufacturing problems on molds.
  • Responsible for making sure all the necessary records, data and reports are updated and maintained.
  • Perform mold change per request of Plant Management Team.
  • On call for Emergency situation and repair as needed
  • Quality is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MIMIMUM EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3 years’ experience in Tooling (assembling/disassembling molds).
  • Must be able to fluently read, write and speak the English language.
  • Must be able to follow, understand and work from written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to travel locally.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license; DOT medical card, also preferred for forklift certification.
  • Must be able to lift and stack materials up to, and over 50lbs.
  • General knowledge of injection machine operations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of molds.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  • Attention to detail is required as well as being able to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read schematics, and prior experience with production machinery is preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is typical of clean manufacturing using robotic systems, and that of a working warehouse due to the use of material handling equipment.  The noise level is consistent with system alarms, machines operating and overhead announcements.  Occasional smell of and/or smoke from hot plastic and exposure to moving mechanical parts.  Work is usually performed while standing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, often in small or tight spaces, a high percentage of the workday and requires physical stamina.  Must be able to bend, lift and stack materials up to 70 pounds.  Work requires visual effort of significant duration to view small mechanical parts and quality defects.
