ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Monitor molding machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure they are operating properly.
- Troubleshoot problems by diagnosing cause, making minor repairs, and cleaning mold and/or platens as necessary to prevent quality issues.
- Adjust controls and/or machine settings as required to maintain optimum operation and quality of parts.
- Perform machine start-up and shut down as needed to meet production schedule.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities as scheduled or required.
- Use correct measures to return machines and equipment to their manufacturing operational condition within a reasonable amount of time, including being able to troubleshoot and repair from OEM schematics.
- Oversee, follow and enforce all safety practices and quality standards.
- Prepare and submit work orders for the Maintenance Department to address more major issues or problems.
- Interact daily with Shift Supervisor, Cell Leaders and Packers to stay informed of any operational concerns and production needs.
- Act as backup to Shift Supervisor when necessary.
- Quality is everyone’s responsibility.

MIMIMUM EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent) plus two years of manufacturing experience, or similar combination of education and work experience.
- Knowledge of injection molding machines and basic processing.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills required.
- Must have good attention to detail and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work under pressure with time sensitive matters and respond quickly to get machinery back to working condition.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and follow verbal and/or written instructions.
- Good mechanical skills, ability to read schematics, and prior experience with production machinery.
- Must be able to fluently read, write and speak the English language.
- Basic computer skills with experience in MS Office Suite and ERP software (IQMS preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is typical of clean manufacturing using robotic systems, and that of a working warehouse due to the use of material handling equipment. Noise level is consistent with system alarms, machines operating and overhead announcements. Occasional smell of and/or smoke from hot plastic and exposure to moving mechanical parts. Work is usually performed while standing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, often in small or tight spaces, a high percentage of the workday and requires physical stamina. Must be able to bend, lift and stack materials up to 70 pounds. Work requires visual effort of significant duration to view small mechanical parts and quality defects.
